The Great Lakes College Chemistry Conference (GLCCC) Research Program has been held annually at Michigan State University since1991. This research conference gives undergraduate students in chemistry and chemistry-related fields the opportunity to present their research to their peers and to the chemistry community, and to learn about what other undergraduates are doing in chemistry. Students from twenty-five to thirty Great Lakes area colleges and universities gather for this one day program to present their research in poster sessions, to attend workshops on modern research techniques, and to hear a plenary lecture.
2002 GLCCC Research Program: for more information about the 2002 GLCCC Research Program, scheduled for Saturday, April 13, 2002. It will be held in the Chemistry Building on the Michigan State University campus (at the corner of Shaw Lane and Science Drive).
Online registration is now closed. You may still register at the conference.
For a list of past speakers, and a summary of the goals and general features of the annual GLCCC Research Programs, go to the GLCCC Research Program History page.
GLCCC Alumni: If you presented during any of the past GLCCC conferences, please let us know where you are now and what you are doing by sending a message to: GLCCC@cem.msu.edu!
2002 GLCCC Career Day: Planned for mid-November, 2002
GLCCC Career Day is an opportunity for students to explore career options through presentations, workshops, and panel discussions given by chemists and related professionals from the Great Lakes region. Career Day is also an opportunity for employers to interact with students outside of a formal interview. Our hope is that the visibility of the excellent Great Lakes regional students will be raised by their participation in this event. The 7th Annual Career Day will be held on a Saturday in mid-November, 2002, and will be open to faculty, undergraduate students, graduate students, professional chemists, and recruiters from the chemical industry.
Professional chemists and professionals with chemistry degrees (BA, BS, MS, or PhD): If you would like more information about how you can participate in Career Day, please send us a message: GLCCC@cem.msu.edu. The students would love to meet you, and they would value learning about your job, your career path, and what you really needed to know to be successful in industry.
